Overview of additional maintenance works on runway 25L/07R
As announced, Brussels Airport will carry out a second and final phase of maintenance works on runway 25L/07R.
Following maintenance works on the central part of runway 25L/07R in June, a second and final phase of works will begin next week. As a result, the runway will be completely closed to air traffic from 2:30 a.m. on 6 November until 11 p.m. on 12 November. In case of adverse weather conditions, the works may be extended. The works are being carried out to continue to ensure safe and smooth operations, particularly in view of the upcoming winter season.
The actual works will only be carried out during the day and are scheduled between 5am and 11pm. Runway 25L/07R will remain closed at night. Works will exceptionally continue during one night from Friday 10 November to Saturday 11 November due to the operational impact of these works. As it intersects with runway 25L/07R, runway 01/19 will also have to close to air traffic on 11 and 12 November to allow for the planned work.
The works will have an impact on runway use, which means that it will not always be possible to apply the PRS ( Preferential Runway System ) and that there may be delays in operations.

From 12 July to 27 August 2025, Brussels Airport will be renovating runway 07R/25L. The works are necessary to continue to guarantee safe air traffic. The runway will undergo extensive renovation, including new asphalt, new runway lights and new sewerage to improve runway drainage, and will be closed to air traffic for the entire duration.
