Maintenance works carried out on runway 07R/25L between 1 and 8 October
At Brussels Airport, all runways and taxiways are continuously inspected to ensure the safety of passengers and airport operations. If damage or irregularities to the runway pavement are detected, an assessment is made as to the urgency of an intervention and the delay within which maintenance works should be carried out.
Recent assessments have identified the need for preventive maintenance works on runway 07R/25L to maintain its safety and operational performance.
To allow these works to be carried out safely and efficiently, the runway will be closed to air traffic from 1 to 8 October. Works will take place on a daily basis between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m., except on the first day when activities will start at 5 a.m.
The runway is expected to reopen to air traffic on 9 October at 8 a.m., following the completion of a required inspection.
Due to the temporary unavailability of one of the runways, it will not always be possible to apply the PRS .
The selection of runways in use is made by the air traffic services provider skeyes based on runway availability and weather conditions, with the primary aim of ensuring the safety of air navigation.

From 12 July to 27 August 2025, Brussels Airport will be renovating runway 07R/25L. The works are necessary to continue to guarantee safe air traffic. The runway will undergo extensive renovation, including new asphalt, new runway lights and new sewerage to improve runway drainage, and will be closed to air traffic for the entire duration.
