Renovation of runway 07R/25L during the summer holidays
From 12 July to 27 August 2025, Brussels Airport will be renovating runway 07R/25L. The works are necessary to continue to guarantee safe air traffic. The runway will undergo extensive renovation, including new asphalt, new runway lights and new sewerage to improve runway drainage, and will be closed to air traffic for the entire duration.
As runway 07R/25L intersects with runway 01/19, both runways will be closed to air traffic between 2 and 12 August. During this period, only runway 07L/25R will be in use.
The works are scheduled in such a way as to minimise the impact on the PRS ( Preferential Runway System ) as much as possible. However, given the impact on runway availability, it will not always be possible to apply the PRS.
The selection of runways in use is made by the air traffic services provider skeyes based on runway availability and weather conditions, with the primary aim of ensuring the safety of air navigation.
