skeyes renews the Instrument Landing System of RWY19
Update: skeyes is happy to announce that the ILS19 was successfully renewed.
The new ILS of
runway
19 is operational as of July 20 2023.
The ILS ( Instrument Landing System ) of RWY19 is at the end of its lifetime and shall be renewed. The renewal project (managed by skeyes) is planned between 24 April 2023 and 20 July 2023, and includes civil works, installation works, tuning, testing and commissioning of the new ILS.
During this time frame, the ILS of RWY 19 is out of service and RWY19 shall not be used for arrivals. For safety reasons, RWY19/RWY01 will be closed (= unavailable for arrivals and departures) during specific stages of the ILS19 renewal project.

Brussels Airport and skeyes begin demonstration flights with steeper and innovative approach trajectories
Brussels Airport and air navigation service provider (ANSP) skeyes will commence demonstration flights as part of the HERON project from 1st October. The aim of these flights is to assess whether landings with a steeper approach than usual could offer benefits in terms of reducing noise impact for surrounding communities, as well as lowering CO2 emissions and fuel consumption.
