Brussels Airport

As the major Belgian airport located in the heart of Europe, Brussels Airport is the preferred gateway to Brussels, Belgium and the rest of the world.

Brussels Airport is operated by Brussels Airport Company, the limited company to which the Belgian State granted the operating licence. 75% of the company's shares are held by a consortium of private investors. The Belgian State has an interest of 25% of the shares.

The airport operator’s mission is to connect people, businesses and communities in the heart of Europe, creating prosperity and well-being.

Brussels Airport welcomes about 25.7 million passengers a year and connects the European capital with 248 destinations worldwide served by 80 different airlines (figures 2018).

With more people and goods expected to fly in the future, airports will play a crucial role in the local and European economy. Brussels Airport is a powerful engine for the prosperity of society and the economy. As the second economic powerhouse in Belgium, Brussels Airport attracts companies, creates jobs and stimulates international trade.

Brussels Airport has the ambition to become a fully connected economic centre that houses the finest airport in Europe. A goal that has been translated into an ambitious long-term plan, the Strategic Vision 2040, that includes projects for the short, medium and long term and sketches the outlines for the future development of Brussels Airport.

The plan encompasses the airport's socio-economic impact, connectivity, customer focus, well-being, sustainability and digitisation.
